SACRED HEART PARISH, SEWARD AND ST. JOHN NEUMANN, COOPER LANDING COVID 19 MITIGATION PLAN FOR MASS ATTENDANCE
A general dispensation from the Sunday obligation still remains in effect.
Any person with COVID 19 symptoms may not enter the church. Any person who has any illness at all is strongly encouraged to remain at home until symptom-free.
Those persons at risk, we ask that you stay home for your own benefit.
Anyone who has health and safety concerns is dispensed from the obligation to attend Mass until further notice.
We ask that those who are not able to attend Mass in person to use social media to attend your Sunday obligation and pray the prayer for Spiritual Communion.
Pews marked with blue tape are set to maintain the required 6 foot social distancing. Please sit AT the marks. Families are not required to maintain social distancing from one another.
For the time being, there will be no flowers or plants in the congregation area of the Church or in the Sanctuary.
Face masks – Cloth face coverings or masks are required for all attending Masses. Mass Times
Please arrive no earlier than 3/4 hour before Mass, (Sunday and weekday morning Rosary takes place 30 minutes prior to Mass time) please leave within 5 minutes of the final blessing so we may disinfect the church
Tuesday to Friday -limited to 36 plus the priest/deacon.

Sunday – Parking Lot -limits based on the size of the parking lot and the requirement for vehicles to remain 6 feet apart. A maximum of 47 persons plus the priests/deacon.

Social Distancing - When in public spaces, every effort should be taken to maintain six foot social distance from other members of the public. Social distancing is not required for members of the same household.
Please use the hand sanitizer when entering the church.
There will not be any missalettes so please bring an electronic device or your own missalette if you need one. (Missalettes will be available until Sunday for people to take one home with them. Please bring and use your own missalette for the remainder of this emergency.)
No ministers will assist with the Mass. A Priest or Deacon will read the readings.
Music will be kept to a minimum. Social distancing rule for singing is 10 feet.
There will not be a collection at the Offertory. Please leave your gifts in the collection box at the left side of the entrance to the congregation area.
There will be no “Sign of Peace” until further notice.
Please Refrain from holding hands during the “Our Father.”
Holy Communion will be distributed to the congregation at the end of the Mass. We ask you to refrain from reception of Holy Communion on the tongue for the duration of the emergency. Please maintain social distancing on line to receive the host, the floor is marked with tape at 6-foot intervals. When receiving Holy Communion, receive the host in your hand, move to the side 6 feet, unmask, consume the Host and return to your place. Reception of the Precious Blood via the chalice is suspended except for the priest, deacon and anyone who cannot receive Holy Communion via the Host due to Celiac Disease or when a low-gluten Host is not available or effective.
After the final blessing, the church needs to be cleaned. Please leave within 5 minutes.
